Organization of MAKO CIGRE

Bodies of MAKO CIGRE are the Assembly (all MAKO CIGRE members), the Executive Board, as an executive body of the General Assembly, and a Supervisory Board, which controls the financial operation of the Association.

The Executive Board consists of the President and the Vice President of MAKO CIGRE, Study Committee Presidents, General Secretary, former Presidents of MAKO CIGRE, the Honorary President and up to five distinguished experts from the members of MAKO CIGRE, elected by the Executive Board, and approved by the Assembly.

The president and the Vice President of MAKO CIGRE serve as President and Vice president of the Executive Board.

Technical work

The professional work of MAKO CIGRE is realized in 16 study committees (SCs). The task of these committees is to initiate and coordinate the studying, contributing to the technical progress of their areas.

The task of the SCs is to participate actively in the organization and preparation of the plenary sessions. In terms of this, they choose the preferential themes, and ensure its coverage by papers that will be presented and discussed during the session. Members of the Study Committee are well-known experts.

Study Committees may also establish working groups composed of other experts, whose task is to deal with specific topics.

Study committees are grouped into four groups:

  • Group B: Substations (5 committees)
  • Group C: Systems (6 committees)
  • Group D: Supporting Technologies (2 committees)
