Tour at the technical museum at HPP Matka
HPP "Matka" is one of the oldest power plants in Macedonia. It was built in 1938, and was refurbished in 2008 to a nominal capacity of 9.6 MW.
The power plant is owned and operated by EVN Makedonija.
Recently, EVN Macedonia has opened a technical museum at HPP Matka, and MAKO CIGRE members will have the opportunity to be one of the first visitors at the museum.
The study tour includes visits to both the old and the new plant. The original equipment in the old plant is not functional, and it serves like a museum.
The tour provides rare oportunity to compare two (similar) technologies, but one century apart: the first being from the beginning of the 20th century, while the new plant is from the beginning of the 21st century.
Locations of the power plants, as well as the pickup locations are shown on the map below.
Important note: If you wish to use your own transportation please register with HPP Matka as your pickup location.
Only registered persons will be admitted to the plant.
